The way you needed to band together to survive and build your town, making things simpler to craft was an experience that I've never had in any other MMO.I like crafting, farming, fishing, blacksmithing, and just managing things.
Camelot Unchained has me giddy at the prospect of being so good at something that you could be famous, and the amount of customization in making the items themselves makes me feel like you could have a distinct style-but something that in-depth is a long way off.BDO was fun for a month, but it felt pretty aimless and like I was so limited by time, like there wasn't enough things to do actively or to manage without ending up with loads of downtime.I'm going to try Wurm and Tale of Toast (when the servers are up), but does anyone have any suggestions for what else I could play?. Wurm let's you do everything on one character if you want to. But you need a sub to get over skill 20 and some skills are locked due to that. Unlimited is a one time payment with player run servers.LiF has skill points capped, so you should specialise into something and you HAVE to work with a group of people to get anywhere.I guess LiF is really nice if you are really into specialised roles and a lot of player interaction, while Wurm can be your game where you meet your neighbor 1 time a week at the nearest trade hub, when you restock your stall or randomly find them lurking around. Mabinogi has all of that except for the managing part, i don't think anything can beat haven and hearth.
But there is something similar to it which is tree of life (unfortunately it's b2p) life is feudal is like a 3d haven i believe, but people that bought early access cant seem to play the game so it's quite sketchy.stardew valley is quite entertaining if you don't mind playing a single player game (you can atleast play with your friends with the makeshift player mod) my only complaint for this game is that the time goes too fast so i have to head to bed every so often. Wurm Online or Unlimited, in Online you need to pay to get the cap off your skills and Unlimited its a buy-2-play game and the populations of server vary heavely, Online is better just because the servers have history and you can find player ruins (once i paid myself 1 month of online subscription because i found a player town ruin filled with good tools that i could sell).Life is Feudal is like a hardcore version of Wurm, beware that is in EA so just keep a eye close for it, right now is in Beta, that means no more wipes.
I've played H&H. This is more like Wurm online. Here, you won't be able to do everything with one character. You have a limit on the amount of skills you can earn, one that can be raised a bit by intelligence. Though, some servers will be able to set a higher limit. You can earn enough skills to survive, but you won't be building any fancy walled manors.
Though, you can create alts.Obviously, this is 1st/3rd person instead of isometric. Combat is more involved than button pushing as you have to aim your attacks. I don't remember H&H having a single player mode, it was a persistent world mmo when I last played. Death is handled different per server settings; it can be perma-death up to partial skill loss.
The latter is effected by your alignment, which is lowered by assault and such. The lower the alignment, the less skills you keep after death.
Both have a lot of sandboxing and crafting. As a fan of H&H, I really enjoy LiF. However, I would caution you to keep in mind that this is still an early release title; there are many bugs and many features are missing. Also, no amount of time and effort will ever allow you to punch down stone walls in LiF. Originally posted by:Thanks for the answer MrSeagull, even though it wasn't my question, I myself was wondering how similar this was to H&H as a former long-time player of that game.Glad to hear you can't kick down castles after pigging out on cheese and sasusages for weeks on end lol. I'll be watching LiF closely though sounds more cooperative than my liking, as a jaded old survival/permadeath gamer I like to get my hermit on rather than join the local village grind. If you are good at working out trade deals with the locals you will do fine.Permadeath is an option to choose when hosting a server. From one jaded old survival/permadeath gamer to another.;).
