A ramp that connects the Ohio Turnpike and Interstate 76 was closed for nearly an hour-and-a-half Tuesday evening when Department of Transportation workers and other local contractors were summoned to remove steel coil and debris that fell from a truck and landed on and near the road.The driver of the truck was reportedly in the exit lane of the turnpike and heading west to I-76 when the. The sudden movement turned the load on its side and eventually turned the truck as well. The truck's contents, made up mostly of steel coil, then rolled onto parts of the road and berm of the interstate.I-76 West and the exit lane where the accident occurred were closed while crews speedily worked to remove all debris from the road and berm. Often times, loads such as this are not properly fastened. Other instances involve drivers who are not properly trained to slow down to a reasonable speed when negotiating bends with such heavy loads.
